Rotation-averaged extinction cross width (m).

The average is calculated as

\[\langle \lambda_\mathrm{ext} \rangle = -\frac{2 \pi}{n_{k_z}} \sum_{k_z m} \frac{\Re(T_{k_z m,k_z m})}{k_s},\]

where \(k_s\) is the wavenumber in the background medium and \(n_{k_z}\) is the number of \(k_z\) components included in the basis of the T-matrix. The average is taken over all given z-components of the wave vector and rotations about the z-axis.

It is only implemented for global T-matrices.
